Who We Are
The Sodic Lands Reclamation Project was part of a long-term program to improve agricultural productivity in areas with a high concentration of sodic lands and was to be implemented over a 7-year period in 10 districts of the state. It had three objectives:
(i) to develop models for environmental protection and improved agricultural production through large-scale reclamation of sodic lands;
(ii) to strengthen local institutions to manage such schemes; and
(iii) to contribute to poverty alleviation of the families concerned
Integrated Watershed Management Program - IWMPIntegrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) is to restore the ecological balance by harnessing, conserving and developing degraded natural resources such as soil, vegetative cover and water. The outcomes are prevention of soil erosion, regeneration of natural vegetation, rain water harvesting and recharging of the ground water table.
